Asgeir Sigurdsson

Asgeir SigurdssonDr. Asgeir Sigurdsson is an internationally known authority on the treatment of dental trauma and pulpal pain, who resides in Iceland and USA and currently practices endodontics in Reykjavik, Iceland and in Worthing, UK. He earned a dental degree from the University of Iceland Faculty of Dentistry, and a certificate in endodontics and Master of Science degree with an emphasis on pain perception from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

His current academic appointments include Associate Professor and Chairman of Department of Endodontics, New York College of Dentistry; Honorary Clinical Associate Professor in the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong; Honorary Clinical Teacher in Endodontology, UCL Eastman Dental Institute; Adjunct Associate Professor, Department of Endodontics, School of Dentistry, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

He is a visiting professor at New York University College of Dentistry in endodontic courses since 2012. Before his current positions he has also served as an honorary clinical teacher in endodontics at the University College London Eastman Dental Institute, and as an honorary clinical associate professor at the University of Hong Kong Faculty of Dentistry.

Dr. Sigurdsson is a past recipient of the American Association of Endodontists Edward M. Osetek Educator Award, and has served as president of the International Association for Dental Traumatology.

Sigurdsson has been in the Editorial Board of 10 scholarly journals, including being Associate Editor in Acta Odontologica Scandinavica, Informa Healthcare since 2013, Roots, the International Magazine of Endodontics, Dental Tribute International and International Endodontic Journal Blackwell Science since 2007 to name just a few.

He has given over 150 presentations around the world and is the author of more than publications, books, thesis, reviews and journals on endodonic aspects on dental trauma and dental pain perception.
